Ang Langgam at ang Tipaklong
Ang langgam ang pinakamasinop na insekto. Hindi siya tumitigil sa paghahanap ng pagkain para sa panahon ng tag-ulan.
Ang mayabang na tipaklong naman ay pakanta kanta lang. Panay ang pamamasyal. Kung pagod na siya ay matutulog na siya. Nang dumating ang tag-ulan, walang naipong pagkain ang tipaklong.
Humingi ng pagkain ang tipaklong sa langgam, nagdahilan siya na mayroon siyang sakit.
Pinagsabihan ni langgam si tipaklong. “Iyan ang sinasabi ko sa’yo. Hindi ka nag-ipon ng makakain noong tag-araw. Tapos ngayon, hihingi ka sa akin. O sige, bibigyan kita ngayon, pero sa susunod ay hindi na”.
Tinanggap ni tipaklong ang pagkain kahit nahihiya siya kay langgam. Nangako siya sa sarili na magiging masinop na rin siya para mapaghandaan ang tag-ulan.

Si Malakas at Si Maganda
Si Malakas at Si Maganda
It was told that that in the beginning, there was no earth or man. There was only the Sky and the Sea. Both of equal prowess, they exist one above or below the other. The only thing in between them was a small bird.
The bird was flying endlessly, until, he got bored and tired. The Sky was above him, but he can’t reach it; below him was the Sea, but he can’t land on it.
So the bird thought deeply. And then he swooshed, and scooped and splashed water from the Sea. He continued with his splashing until water reached the Sky above.
The Sky was furious. He didn’t want the waters to flood him, and he noticed that the Sea now was also mad.
All the Sky thought of was creating rocks and then throwing them. And so he did. The Sky created rocks and he threw them down, which landed on the Sea.
The bird was satisfied. He landed on those rocks and then made a nest.
The Sky commanded the bird to never disturb him and the Sea again.
… But then the bird noticed something floating on the water. He ignored it but the bamboo shaft bumped him and hurt him. He got so furious so he pecked and pecked the bamboo until… it split into two.
From the first half sprung a man, and from the second, a woman. Strength and Beauty. They were our first parents, and from them, the rest of the world began… The End

Unang inilathala ang maikling kuwentong “Si Anabella” ni
Magdalena Jalandoni sa libro ni Corazon Villareal,
Translating the Sugilanon (1994, 135-141). Kalakip ang
orihinal nito sa isang lupon ng mga makiniladyong maikling kuwento
ni Jalandoni, na pinamagatang Hinugpong nga mga Sugilanon 1936-
1938. Nailathala din ang saling Filipino ni Villareal sa nirebisang
edisyon ng antolohiyang Philippine Literature: A History and
Anthology (1997, 151-154) ni Bienvenido Lumbera.
Sa unang pagsipat ng kuwentong “Si Anabella,” ating iisiping
taglay nito ang pormula ng mga romantikong kuwentong laganap
noong panahong ito’y nasulat, sa pagitan ng mga taong 1936-1938.
Magsisimula ang melodramatikong banghay sa pag-iibigan ng
dalawang magkaiba ng estado sa buhay, hahadlangan ito ng palalong
ina ng mayaman, susubukin ang katapatan ng magkasintahan, aangat
ang estado ng mahirap sa di inaasahang paraan upang sa wakas ay
magsasama uli sila, at magtatagumpay ang kanilang wagas na pagibig.

Essay: Colonization Shaping Our Future.
Philippines had been colonized by many country around the world. colonization is the most effective way or one way to pass or teach the culture and beliefs of their country. Colonization is one of the reason why the religion of Philippines is catholic. Being colonized by many country gave us a lot of learning about their own. On the other had , being colonized by different country has a good effect to us, we have learn a lot about them and we became a fighter and we become nationalistic because of them.
Spaniard is the one who colonized us for a hundred years. When the Spaniards colonize our country, they ruled us for many years. Some of their culture was adopted by the Filipinos just like their beliefs. Catholicism came from Spain by the used of Magellan. Their Language or some of their language are still used by most of the Filipinos.
Living in this kind of life now is the effect of colonization. Our beliefs , our clothing , our education is the effect of being colonized by different country many years ago :)
